It’s not just research. It’s results.

The results are in — BofA Global Research is ranked No. 1 on Institutional Investor’s All-America Research Team.

As of October 24, 2023, BofA Global Research ranked No. 1 overall in Institutional Investor’s annual client survey of equity research firms in North America.  Our research department earned 49 total ranked positions, according to the survey.

34 analysts ranked in the top three across various categories, the highest of all firms surveyed:

  • 10 #1 ranked analysts
  • 11 #2 ranked analysts
  • 13 #3 ranked analysts

“This remarkable achievement reflects our team’s continued commitment to creating insightful, world-class research and providing outstanding client service,” said Daire Browne, head of Americas Equity Research.

Along with the unprecedented rate environment, it was crucial to be aware of the industry- and stock-level trends occurring in parallel.1 “From the perspective of my department and the research teams that I manage, it was critically important to stay up on all of the macro,” Daire Browne explains. “But you did not want to get strongly oriented on one single macro view. If you did, there was a great chance you were going to miss some of the company specifics and industry themes that were really driving the market.”1

“Bulge-bracket firms like ours have continued to be strong and grow market share. We need to be in the forefront of educating our clients on the far-reaching impacts of AI, machine learning, large language models, and how that’s going to impact all of the sectors we cover. It’s a much bigger scope of impact than just looking at the technology industry and how it’s being disrupted.” says Daire.2

In addition to ranking No.1 in the 2023 All-America Research Team category, BofA was also top ranked in the 2023 Developed Europe and Emerging Europe surveys, released earlier this year.

The global rankings for 2023 will be released in early 2024.

BofA Securities Global Research was named the #1 research provider in Institutional Investor’s All-America Research Team survey, published on Oct 24, 2023, with rankings based on data collected during the polling period of May 30 – June 23, 2023.
